plenty of time to make the drive to Milford Sound.  Although there are lots of places to stop and hike from the scenic route, we only had a brief stop at Mirror Lake so that we could make it to our Lucky</title><summary type='text'>One week ago today, Lucky passed away in his sleep after entering a hibernation state from which we were unable to rouse him.  My mother was delayed coming in to town and so never got to share a room with the little bugger.  He is now buried beneath our potato pot in the garden.  He lasted a record breaking three months.  My office is much quieter now, albeit less smelly. This one is a harebell, Campanula rotundifolia.These flowers had several flies crawling on them, answering the question of the dominant pollinators up here. We went for a short hike there on Sunday and played around all of the ice formations. It was actually sunny and gorgeous out.
